Shubman Gill scored a double century in the second Test match, batting in 311 balls with 21 fours and 2 sixes. He became the first Asian captain to score a double century in a Test match in England and set a new record for the highest score by an Indian captain in a Test innings in England. Gill is the fifth Indian to score a double century as Test captain.
